- Per Luciano
Luciano left me many souvenirs.
Going together, in the sixties, to Lingueglietta, a village above Imperia where his sister had a house, he talked me into buying one myself shortly afterwards.
I went to Milan for the premi√®re of Passaggio that is dedicated to my father, Darius Milhaud. When he died in 1974, Luciano organized and directed a concert of his music at the Th√©√Ętre d'Orsay. Ex students of Milhaud, like Betsy Jolas and Gilbert Amy, sang, among others, in the chorus of La mort d'un Tyran. This concert was a big event and a great emotion, I was very touched by this act of fidelity.
My father admired Berio and always said he considered him the most important composer of his generation.
I am very grateful, dear Talia, for giving me this occasion of remembrance of a man I admired and love.
