As part of the special educational programming promoted by the Cagliari Conservatory “Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina”, Angela Ida De Benedictis (musicologist), Andrea Lucchesini (piano), and Claudio Pasceri (cello) held a masterclass on October 6 and 7, 2023, aimed at performers, composers, active students, and auditors. The focus was on Berio’s two Sequenzas, explored from poetic, technical-instrumental, and aesthetic perspectives.

The dialogue between the expertise and experiences of the three specialists — acclaimed interpreters and scholars of the works in question — shed light on the major compositional, textual, performative, and sonic aspects of the two Sequenzas. It also addressed the conceptual knots of “re-creation” and “intercultural appropriation,” offering an effective example of interdisciplinary integration.
