Remembering Luciano… with Ensemble Vertebræ
On 30 August 2025, Ensemble Vertebræ will present its new creation Remembering Luciano… – A Tribute to Luciano Berio (1925–2003), a project developed during their musical residency at Quai de Scène in Strasbourg.
To celebrate the centenary of Luciano Berio, Ensemble Vertebræ has conceived a concert-performance that, in a certain way, retraces the musical life of the composer.
Four women on stage: a singer, a flutist, a pianist, and an actress. A dialogue unfolds between texts — excerpts from authors who inspired Berio, such as Joyce, Proust, Neruda, Sanguineti, as well as testimonies from those who knew him — and music by his teacher Dallapiccola, his friend Maderna, his student Andriessen, and encounters with Kagel, Stockhausen, and Cathy Berberian… all interwoven through an essential and minimal dramaturgy.
