“Gestures, Words, Sounds”: The Creative Worlds of Cathy Berberian and Luciano Berio

From October 2 to 6, 2025, McGill University in Montreal and other venues across the Canadian city will host the event “Gestures, Words, Sounds: The Creative Worlds of Cathy Berberian and Luciano Berio.” The program includes a series of workshops, concerts, lectures, and an exhibition dedicated to the centenary of Luciano Berio and Cathy Berberian.

The event is organized by McGill University together with the Paul Sacher Stiftung and the Schulich School of Music at McGill University, in collaboration with the Centro Studi Luciano Berio, the Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal, the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology (CIRMMT), and Paramirabo, with the support of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
