in
Concert

May 27 marks the eleventh anniversary of Berio’s passing; three events are scheduled for this date: the Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart perform A-ronne in Madrid; the Eutopia Ensemble, with mezzo-soprano Giulia Beatini, performs Folk Songs conducted by Matteo Manzitti (Teatro Cavour, Imperia); the Ater Balletto is in Rome with Workwithinwork, created by the choreographer William Forsythe on Berio's Duetti per due violini (the performance will be repeated on May 28 at Teatro Olimpico).
On June 13 and 14 Gaetano d'Espinosa conducts the Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice in Rendering (Venezia, Teatro Malibran).
On July 6 the Junge Sinfonie Reutlingen, conducted by Rainer M. Schmid, will perform Rendering in the Sommerkonzert 2014 (Reutlingen, Stadthalle).
On July 16 in Siena, in the frame of Estate Musicale Chigiana, Carmelo Giallombardo (viola) and Jonathan Faralli (percussion) will perform Naturale, with sound projection by Francesco Giomi.
One of the most outstanding events is the performance of Sinfonia on August 5 in the frame of the BBC proms 2014 at the Royal Albert Hall, London, with Semyon Bychkov conducting the European Union Youth Orchestra and London Voices. The concert has been chosen by one of the UK’s most significant critics as one of the top ten Proms of the summer.

The Lucerne Festival 2014 hosts two concerts with Berio’s music: on August 23 Sir Simon Rattle will conduct Coro with the Orchestra and Choir of the Lucerne Festival Academy; on September 1st the Lucerne Festival Ensemble conducted by Matthias Pintscher will perform Tempi concertati. The same program, with the same performers, will be presented also in Cologne (Kölner Philharmonie, September 8) and Gelsenkirchen (Musiktheater, September 9).
