Upcoming events with Berio's music

The concert calendar featuring Berio’s works is rich of events scheduled between the end of 2015 and the first months of 2016. Here follows a selection of the most outstanding concerts (for a complete list, see the Concert calendar).

From January 27 to February 1st the Curtis Institute of Music, Philadelphia, will schedule a series of events devoted to Luciano Berio's music. The initiative includes conferences, screenings and concerts, among which two performances of Sinfonia with the Curtis Symphony Orchestra and members of the Curtis Opera Theatre conducted by Ludovic Morlot (January 31, KimmelI Centre for the Performing Arts, Philadelphia, and February 1st, Carnegie Hall, New York). On February 4, in Florence, Guillermo García Calvo conducts the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Quattro versioni originali della ‘Ritirata Notturna di Madrid di L. Boccherini’. On February 27 and 28, Opus 120 No. 1 is scheduled in Detroit, with clarinetist Ralph Skiano and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Leonard Slatkin.
On February 28, in Genève, Arie van Beek conducts Luisa Castellani and the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève in Folk Songs, in the version for mezzo-soprano and orchestra. On March 8, Opus Number Zoo is performed in Wien featuring the Webern Wind Quintet; on March 19, in Florence, Alpesh Chauhan conducts the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Requies.

Past events:

On December 4, Calmo is performed in Paris featuring the soprano Donatienne Michel-Dansac and the Ensemble Intercontemporain, conducted by Baldur Brönnimann; the whole concert is devoted to the composer Georges Aperghis. On December 12 and 13 Ricorrenze is scheduled in Munich with the wind quintet featured by Natalie Schwaabe, Tobias Vogelmann, Heinrich Treydte, François Bastian and Stefan Tischler. On December 31, Alain Altinoglu conducts Folk Songs in Zurich, with Nora Gubisch and the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich.
